Frequently Asked Questions

My staircase has turns, can I still have a stairlift fitted?

Yes! We can provide curved stairlifts that can be fitted to staircases with turns and intermediate landings. Take a look at the 180 Curved Stairlift.

Are stairlifts safe?

Stairlifts are safe when installed by a trained professional. Our partnership with Acorn Stairlifts means the stairlifts we provide are safe and you can use your stairlift with confidence.

How long does it take to install the stairlift?

Depending on which stairlift you need the installation time can be up to 2 hours for a straightforward stairlift, and up to 5 hours for a more complicated stairlift.

How much do stairlifts cost?

Stairlifts are considered a medical aid, customers requirements vary and every staircase is different. When you have your survey, you will be given a personalised quote there and then.

What is the weight limit for stairlifts?

The weight limit on the stairlifts we provide varies. The highest weight capacity is 159kg (25st) on the Heavy Duty Straight Stairlift.

I have a small hallway and landing, will a stairlift fit?

There are many different options to save space in your home when you have a stairlift. Hinged rails (don't worry, these can be powered so you won't need to lift it) enable you to use your stairlift even if you have doors or a small hallway.

How fast do stairlifts go?

Stairlifts are slow moving so that you feel comfortable and in control. They travel at no more than 0.15 metres per second.
